Sugarcane is one of the world’s most renewable resources. Grown in Brazil’s climate, it regenerates quickly after harvest and captures CO₂ during its growth cycle. That means BioMax™ packaging begins with a raw material that is not only renewable, it is actively helping to reduce greenhouse gases.
BioMax™ begins with Braskem’s I’m green™ bio-based HDPE. The process starts with sugarcane grown in Brazil. After harvest, the sugarcane is processed into ethanol, which Braskem converts into ethylene and then into HDPE resin. We mold that resin into BioMax™ containers at our facility. The result is packaging made using a plant-based material while retaining the familiar strength and durability of HDPE.
